K-POP Wave! And...videos from my reception.

Selamat Pagi~! #nichijou

Nyawa ku gik ayong-ayong...*goyang goyang*

Yesterday, i was attracted with the TV3 morning show 'Malaysia Hari Ini' or known as MHI's topic which was "K-Pop. Antara hiburan dan ketaksuban. Apa pendapat anda?" (Literally means: "K-Pop. Between entertainment and fanatic. What is your opinion?")

Ha~! i believe that most of the countries have been hit by the Korean pop waves since a few years ago and getting more and more fans till now. i do think that the old K-pop songs did not really affect me at all to go all Ga-ga over them. i do like their ballads though...but still, not really that addicted enough...just an OK for me to listen to them.

i've been a hardcore fan of J-Rock genre (and a few J-Pop songs especially the boyband Arashi *squee!!*) especially those with Angura Kei such as MUCC, Eroguro Kei such as Merry, Oshare Kei such as Alice Nine, and Visual Kei such as Moi dix Mois, just to name a few (if i want to include all, i don't think i can remember all now. lol). Back to those years, i can say that i'm quite addicted over them. Spending money on the magazines at Kinokuniya, memorizing the lyrics, knows every little bit of their background, having fantasies in meeting them, etc...(Stalker much?) i even have my own 'boyfriend' from each of the bands (and 90% of them are guitarists). XD But not that fanatic enough to spent my money for the CDs, shirts, concert tickets, Autograph, etc even though i must say that i'd do so if i got the chance.

But then, back in 5 years ago, my bestfriend-in-J-rock-crime which is Aina a.k.a. Key (from KL) had moved interest to K-pop. i was like, "Eh????????????" o_O Quite shocking because from heavy metal she's now rooting for Pop songs with dancing young all-boys group. Key always used my ordering service to buy J-Rock and gothic fashion stuff, but that time she asked me to help her purchase K-pop merchandise such as Autobiography book, collecting cards of Kpop boy bands, and etc... :P

Then, around 2 years ago...i started to listen to Wondergirls...and got addicted...hahaha!!
And man!! That was fast! Tergugat jiwa rock aku...after that, Big Bang was secured safely in my heart...more and more K-pop groups coming afterwards...2NE1, SNSD, Super Junior, U-KISS, hmm...that's it i think? Cuz not yet reaallllyyyy into some of the music. But what i want to say here is they brought in such a big impact even though only for a little time!
Back in those days, everyone doesn't know what song i was humming to, but nowadays the song had been played in full blast everywhere.

Ahh...okay... *sips imagination coffee*

i even dragged my friends to dance to Wondergirls' Nobody song in my wedding reception. :P
Such a big ambition enough since i NEVER KNEW how to dance. Just for the sake of doing fun once in my whole life in my own big day. :)

Here are the videos:

Teehee! Even though there were mistakes all over the place (and please excuse my stupid face in the videos), we had fun! Thanks to my bridemaids; Ztie, Shafiq, Anastasia, Huiying, and my two sisters Fyka & Chihiro. XD And zillion thanks to everyone who took the videos and the guests! X3

Budget Wedding?

Assalammualaikum readers! ^_^

Right now i am veeeerrrryyyy excited!! One of my bridesmaids is going to tie a knot with her beloved boyfriend! Congratulations!!!

But it is kind of a sudden for her as this wedding is initially suggested by both families asking them to get married before both continuing their studies far away from home. So, she is very concern about her budget and also the preparations!

What i can suggest from her, don't get carried away with buying or renting anything without doing a survey. Borrow from friends and families if they have something that you can use. :) And, do lots of DIY stuff if you have time to make it more exciting! :D

This wedding probably only initiated to have a simple Akad Nikah Ceremony /Solemnization with a small kenduri doa selamat at home. Whether to have a Persandingan (Reception) on the next day of Akad Nikah or maybe in a few months ahead, will be confirmed after the Merisik ceremony.

In my opinion, it is best to do Akad Nikah first. When you do have enough savings to do the reception, go get it! :D

So now, i'm going to help her finding the best Budget Hantaran idea for the sweet couple!
People always talk about Hantaran war...5 vs 7, 7 vs 9, and more... so, how to make the hantaran look grand but with cheaper cost? :D

Trick number 1: Separate the items
Trick number 2: Borrow new things from family or from your own closet! (just for the sake of showing off on the dulang. :P)

For my dear friend, i suggest that you can use 5 (to girl) vs 7 (to guy) hantarans. :)

Hantaran for Him (with budget)
  1. Wedding ring & Potpouri deco (Budget: This one, up to you)
  2. Work shirt. (Budget: RM50 and below)
  3. Necktie, Socks, Belt, Cuff-links, Pen - choose 2 or more within budget. (Budget: RM50)
  4. Prayer mat & Al-Quran & any knowledge doa books. (Budget: RM50)
  5. Shoes (Budget: RM50 or more? Up to you too!)
  6. Cake or Special food that you or your family cooked. (Budget: less than RM50)
  7. Fruits (RM20)
(Other things you might be interested : Kain pelikat, towel, perfume, men skincare, slack pants, kain songket, baju melayu, etc~)
Total cost: Around RM270 and above.

Hantaran for Her (with budget)
  1. Wedding ring & Sirih Junjung (Budget: Up to him)
  2. Baju kurung or unsewn material/cloth (Budget: Below RM80 or above)
  3. Telekung & Al-Quran (Budget: RM50 or more)
  4. Shoes (Budget: RM50)
  5. Chocolates (RM30)
Total cost: Around RM210 and above.

And i am sure someone in your family or friends will help you in donating something as hantaran gifts like in my Engagement! :D

*joke* You can also put on your new laptop. lol.

How about the Hantaran decoration? Ya know what...? Since all of us are creative, we can work something out. ;) Don't forget that i did everything DIY on my hantaran as well! :P

----------
Now, about your outfit...Custom-made vs Ready-made vs Rent.

  • Custom made, you have to buy the materials & send to tailor. Made to fit with your body and your own fave materials. :D Budget wise it will cost around RM400 & more. And time-consuming. i had this one, and they're all over budgeted. ;_;

  • Ready made, need some times to survey. Hard to find your type of materials & your exact fitting, but you can always alter it. Budget wise are varies...usually RM150 and above for simple design + an OK quality. And RM300 and above for branded.

  • Renting...this one...not bad as well for those who are lazy to go find stuff or does not want to keep extra clothes inside their wardrobe...but! The renting fee is mostly almost the same when you buy a ready-made ones. Besides, you can't wear the same Baju Kurung & Baju Melayu Nikah for your first Hari Raya as husband and wife. :P

What say you? Which one is better? :)

For make-up & accessories, i'd suggest you to hire Make-up artist. Hehe~~

------------

My Henna by Ah Siaw (Lim Kok Wing student)

Inai! Just go for a simple inai lah~ :P Or i can help you draw. If you dare.. XD
I suggest you to buy 'Jit's Henna' from the old steamship building at Kuching Waterfront. Beautiful colour! i used that and oh boy~! i still have my henna visible on my nails even it's already 4 months old! Price RM5 each. For simple henna (hujung jari), 1 packet is enough for both couple. :)

------------

We'll talk more in the next post, mates~!
Don't forget to give ideas by commenting and help my friend out! XD

Edited:

Idea from Ann Amalina : "One of my friend used the Cadbury Dairy Milk miniatures for her hantaran. She bought 2 packs for around RM14, then asked one of her aunts to built a 'mosque' from them!"

- See? More cheaper option! XD Thank you so much, Ann!

Mission : Receptions preparation Pt. 2!

Hooooo boyyyy~!!
New tense is coming up!
With the bad timings when all of my cats are infected with the 'Cat Flu', and one of my cats, Seiji died today.

This cat flu is dangerous! The cats are having fever, puke all over the places, difficulties in breathing, non-stop mucus & flowing saliva. Kuning & Putih are still infected, Bunga is recovering, Tot is getting the high temperature again, and my sister's and my pocket are getting emptier...;____;

Talk about the preparation for the first Reception...
i managed to give most of the invitation cards to my friends. Ada juak yang sekda di rumah. Sampey terlambat masok session karaoke with Izzati & Achie. Haha!

Now i am still trying to figure out the table names & arrangements. The manager of the hotel asked me to discuss with Nasa (pelamin person) about the table arrangements and the red carpet. But...to think back...i only asked for Nasa to create my pelamin only...So i don't know if he will help with the decoration and stuff. @_@ *sms nasa*

*stares at the clock* i have an appointment at 4:30 pm for my facial treatment. It's been a long time i haven't do mine since 9th October. Seriously very pokai as facial treatment can be very expensive. OH CRAP! i haven't check whether i have enough money in my wallet or not!!!
Harap-harap enough la. Or else i better go now to get some money from the ATM.

OK, here's the Work-list for my bridesmaid:

Fika, Izzati, & Dedek:-
  • Jaga photobooth
  • Sediakan props and technical things
  • Sediakan Guestbook

Anastasia & Swing:-
  • Videotaping Guests' wishes. :D
  • Making the placards
  • Atur the wedding favours

i think i need to recruit more help for this. Anyone? D:

Must try - Ring holder / Bekas cincin Nikah

I'm looking forward to do this~

Cantik kan? Dah lamak ku nginci menatang tok. Haha!
Here's the tutorial from Martha Stewart : Silk Flower Tutorial.
Planned to do this for the ring holder, which i'm quite freaking out because i don't have transportation to go find the materials and settle up other stuff as well.

What else that i need to find for this...

+ Silk or Tafetta fabric
+ Pinking shears
+ Wire

Siney nak carik pinking shears owh? FAH company? Techno Graphic?
As for the wires, aku rasa gik masih ada benda tok. Pakey ku molah bunga hantaran time tunang dolok. Siney sidak nyimpan owh...
i think...no need to make the leafs...sik nampak bah.

Colour wise...hmm... Susah na juak nak polah perbandingan since i just reformatted my laptop, so i don't have the Photoshop and Illustrator installed. =_=

Again, theme colour accents are:

Pink & Blue

*thinks hard*

Bekas cincin kaler silver yang aku beli kat Jalan TAR ada...
As for the tapak, i planned mok pakey Bantal jak... Square? Round? Hmm...
If Square shaped, what kind of tassels that i'm going to add?
Materials for the sarung bantal? Tafetta? Faux Fur? Colour?
Bantal put on pahar? No?
Design tepi-tepi?
Sapa yang nak jahit?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm...........

Sempat kah?

AAAAAAAAAAA!!! Mok pegi KAMDAR & FAH!!!

p/s: Blogspot must have been a f***tard today. All the font colours are not showing. Hmmpphhh...

Now we'll talk about the hand bouquet~ Need 2 of them; one for Nikah, and one for the Reception...WAIT...i totally forgot about Yabuki's Reception side! Gahhh!! So make it 3...i think. =X

Hmm...let see...what kind of flowers that i like.

GOOGLE IMAGES TIME!!!
Let's see if anything matches with the themes.

------------------------------------

ROSE

Of course, i love Roses!

Love them no matter what colour and types they are! Bought fake Tea roses for my bedroom deco at SSF. Hehe.
But persoalannya sekarang...should i have Roses hand bouquet?

For Nikah (White) - Accents will be Pink & Blue

So pretty! And suci gitu...hahaha~~

For Reception (Burgundy / Ivory) - Accents will be Black & Ivory

Roses+Calla Lily = Pretty!

Gosh! Loving the feathers!

------------------------------------

PEONY

HOMAIGOSH! You'd never knew how much i love peonies! They're gracefully fuwa-fuwa and soft and super sweet looking! i think they look better for my Nikah bouquet since my theme is Candy-ish!

Nikah:

------------------------------------

ANEMONE

Definitely nice for my reception! XD Simply Mysterious~

Reception:

------------------------------

Ada banyak lagi choices yang boleh jadi extra accents such as blue hydrangea, berries, gerbera, tulip, and etc~
Ataupun kamu nak yang lebih dramatic seperti ini?

Credits: WedDish

Dramatic! I LOIKE!

----------------------

Anyway, i chatted with Yabuki about his reception's wedding bouquet...
Asked him what kind of flowers that he'd like me to carry~ he answered, "Bunga rafflesia...".
Apakah? Hahahahaha!!!

Tandahnya....sak majlis nya berbau....hahahahaha~~!!

--------------------

Okay! End of long post! It actually took me for 3 days to finish typing and google up!
i thank SAILORMOON's Takeuchi sensei for developing my flower-types knowledge.
Seriously! Sik main-main tok! Nya banyak melukis bunga, berik nama characters by flower and planets and stars name. :)

Bai bai!
